ARTIST STATEMENT
From a young age, my passion for sketching began in the Midwest. Over the years I transformed a simple hobby into something much more profound. The act of drawing various subjects always intrigued me, as it presented a thrilling challenge to capture intricate details.
My artistic focus naturally gravitated towards the beauty of nature and animals, as I felt a deep connection with them. In my mid-20s, I embarked on a new journey with oil painting. Each painting has served as a stepping-stone in my artistic evolution.
A two-decade hiatus was taken to raise my family, during which time I relocated to the picturesque landscapes of Idaho. These surroundings have since served as a wellspring of inspiration, reigniting my desire to paint.
As a self-taught artist, my artistic journey has been filled with challenges and exploration. Drawing inspiration from renowned artists such as John Seerey-Lester and Robert Bateman, I seek to infuse my work with their unique style, capturing the mood and personality of both animals and landscape.
Through my art, I aim to create pieces that explore nature’s beauty and majesty of the natural world.
