Two Receptions in June at Gallery 55

After over a year of no reception events, Gallery 55 will host two in June. The first reception takes place on First Saturday, June 5, 4-7pm, to honor our guest artist, jeweler Martha Heukensfeld. Martha is exhibiting her elegant jewelry, inspired by the many unique shapes found in nature. In June, we are also featuring our newest member of the gallery, ceramicist Julie Meikle. Julie’s work, which will be installed June 9, is functional, organic, simple and beautiful.

The second reception, “Confluence, 4-6 pm on June 12, is for one of a series of pop-up exhibitions of landscape artist Rachel Teannalach’s paintings. The exhibitions will be held from April through September, in locations along the historical migration paths of salmon from Central Idaho to the Pacific Ocean. Appropriately, the June 12th exhibition will be installed by Payette Lake on the gallery’s back lawn, and Teannalach will say a few words. So, try to come early. “Confluence” is a collaboration between Teannalach and Advocates of the West. 25% of all artwork sales from the Confluence exhibit will go toward the Advocates’ work to protect and restore salmon habitat.

During the month of June, view Martha’s and Julie’s work and the work of over twenty-five regional artists in the gallery. The gallery is open 11-5 daily.

At both receptions we will be serving wine with Covid-19 mitigation protocols in place.
