The gallery continues to display the work of poet Jose Trejo-Maya in an exhibit entitled Transparencies in Time. His work references the Mayan ethno-tradition and indigenous experience. The exhibit includes the means to access a recorded interview of Jose by the Seattle-based Jack Straw Cultural Center. Through the month of April, Theresa Burkes’ encaustic art is 50% off, so if you have been thinking about purchasing an encaustic painting (using a pigmented beeswax medium), April’s the time to do it. April is good, too, to get your Connie McClaran fix. She continues her Spring Fling Sale of 15% off through April 20. Last but not least, Steampunk assemblage artist Shawn Hubbs is donating the proceeds from any of his sales in April to benefit Ukrainian refugees in Romania, as there is a great and continuing need for help there.
View Jose’s, Theresa’s, Connie’s and Shawn’s work and the work of over twenty regional artists at Gallery 55 in February. The gallery is open 11-5 daily.

You can reserve your spot for either day through the gallery website, galleryfiftyfive.com. The cost is $50, which covers all supplies for a completed 18” x 24” acrylic painting.
