The gallery will close at 2 pm on February 28 and remain closed through March 4th for painting. So, plan to come in after March 4th to see the new look in the gallery. We’ll be displaying the work of poet Jose Trejo-Maya as an exhibit entitled Transparencies in Time. His work speaks to his Mayan ethno-tradition and indigenous experience. The exhibit will include the means to access a recorded interview of Jose by the Seattle-based Jack Straw Cultural Center. We’ll have a new jeweler installed, too: Melba native Jan Fease. She creates one-of-a-kind jewelry from natural stones in combination with other materials like leather, metal and beads.
View Jose’s and Jan’s work and the work of over twenty regional artists at Gallery 55 in February. The gallery is open 11-5 daily after the 4th.
