Gallery 55 First Saturday April Reception

Gallery Fifty-Five is ready for Spring! This April, our guest artist Jan Bittenbender displays her recent felt wool and silk creations along with her beaded jewelry. And new member Terri Axness will delight us again with her ceramic creations. Terri was our guest artist last September.

Meet the artists and view the art by over twenty regional artists at our First Saturday reception, April 6, 4-8 p.m., with music by “Catfish de Grey” (Mike Dixon and Chad Lord), wine by Bistro 45 and appetizers.

Gallery 55 First Saturday, March Reception

“Ice on Branch” by Marcia Hietala

March right on in to Gallery Fifty-Five to see new works by Hietala Photography. We’ll have a special reception for Marcia and Larry Hietala on First Saturday, 4 – 8 p.m. Their art captures the natural world, both grand vistas and intimate close-ups of flora and fauna. They frame their work in reclaimed rustic wood, complementing the natural subjects of their art. In addition to framed photographic prints, they offer cards, note card sets and scenic bookmarks as a way to share their images to match any budget. We also have a new member, Stephanie L. Teeter, whose translucent pastel and oil paintings you will love. So, come on by to see her work and many others’.

Business After Hours

We’re excited to be one of the businesses in our building at 311 E. Lake Street to participate in Business After Hours 5-7 pm on Thursday, February 21. With everyone’s participation, we’ll be serving wine, coffee, desserts and live music by Mike Dixon and Chad Lord. Gallery 55 will be displaying art by over twenty regional artists.

Gallery 55 First Saturday, February Reception

“Room for One More” by Pam McKnight

We have a sweetheart of a month coming up at the gallery. Assemblage artist Pam McKnight joins us in February as our guest from her studio, “Every Little Thing,” where she constructs delightful sculptures and tableaux from small found objects that you will recognize: doll parts, craft décor, scraps of paper and wood and more. Her creations beg for storytelling. At the other end of the scale, we also feature our own Allen Malaise, who creates large wildlife bronzes using the ancient art of lost-wax casting. Come to our reception during Winter Carnival for these exceptional artists on February 2, 4-8 p.m., and welcome the St. Luke’s McCall Auxiliary who will be providing the appetizers for the evening! You’ll want to hear more from them about the exciting work that the Auxiliary does for our community and how to join them in this valuable work.

“Tranquility” by Rich Summers

Hello snow enthusiasts! The slopes are open, and we are rockin’ and rollin’ at the gallery. In January, we welcome guest artist acrylic painter Rich Summers. Rich is a voice over actor with a passion for painting the beauty of the land and wildlife of the West, including Idaho. Rich’s eye for light transparently played out over the texture of his canvases will make you “Ooh” and “Ah.”  Our featured member artist is photographer Melissa Shelby, another artist who captures so beautifully the western landscape. You’ll want to check out her stunning images of scenery from the McCall area. And at our evening reception, you will enjoy hearing Judy Berg, an accomplished singer-songwriter and acoustic guitarist newly-arrived on the music scene here in Idaho.

Dan Wilson and Friends Jam Session at Gallery Fifty-Five

We had so much fun at our jam session in August, Gallery 55 will host another jam session with Dan Wilson and Friends, 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 15. If you would like to jam or just enjoy the music and art, come on by. Admission is free, and we will be serving beer and wine from Bistro 45.
