“Small Green Silk” by Jean Goff

Our guest artist for the month of September is fiber artist Jean Goff. The McCall-based artist is adept at combining traditional and modern techniques into wall hangings that emotionally connect to the natural world. This month we are also featuring one of our gallery members, Montana native Candace Bonawitz. Her textured and painterly ceramics remind of us of our favorite gardens. Finally, please join us in welcoming our two newest members, bronze artist Dave Armstrong and jeweler Donna Armstrong. Singer-songwriter Michaela French will sing originals and covers with guitar accompaniment at our First Saturday reception.

“Overflow I” by Pam Grant

Our guest artist for the month of August is Pam Grant, an award-winning abstract painter in water-based media. Her colorful and flowing abstractions capture the essence of landscape, figure and object. Abstraction is also central to the art of our featured member Thea Belecz, who collages hand-dyed fabric shapes and representational images into mixed media works that reference the landscapes she loves. As a special treat, the Old West Trio will entertain us with cowboy harmonies and acoustic playing at our First Saturday reception.

“Yellow Brick Road” by Peggy Jo Wilhelm

We head into summer with glacier lilies and buttercups making way for lupine and indian paintbrush along the paths and meadows of our central mountains. At the gallery, our guest for June will be fused glass artist Peggy Jo Wilhelm, who creates sparkling glass work in Boise’s East End that are perfect for our mountain gallery. Our featured artist is photographer mixed-media artist Amy McRae. Amy transfers photographic images to handmade and specialty papers in unique ways that you have to see to believe.

“Lions of the Sea” by Larry Mehaffey

There is no better place to celebrate May than at our gallery on the waterfront in McCall. Our featured artist for May, woodcarver Larry Mehaffey, has been working hard in his studio in the Nez Pierce National Forest, creating new wood carvings for your enjoyment. And ceramicist Candace Bonawitz has returned from Arizona and once again graces the gallery with her beautiful vases, mugs and other creations celebrating the beauty of nature.
