Our guest for January is Stephen Aifegha, an African painter and mixed media artist currently living in Nampa. His work centers on the historical, social and cultural issues of his homeland, using African fabrics and newsprint to create a dynamic narrative of and comment on the African continent, the African diaspora and contemporary social issues. In February of this year, Stephen completed an artist residency at Surel’s Place in Garden City, exhibiting work from his collection, “21st Century Africa,” and introducing his newest collection, “Third World Africa.” Join us for a reception on First Saturday, January 6, 4-6:30 p.m.
View Stephen’s work and the work of over twenty regional artists at Gallery 55 during the month of January. The gallery is open 11-5 daily, closed New Year’s Day.
