We have two new members and two guest artists in August. Joining the gallery is mixed media artist Suzanne McHone with her work that builds on exciting mixtures of handmade paper, ephemera and found textures. Also joining the gallery is ceramicist and watercolor artist JoAnn Lance. Lance is known for her delightful ceramics and richly colored watercolor batik paintings. Our guests for the month of August are acrylic and oil painter Kaye York and ceramicist Lisa Maakestad. York’s paintings focus on themes of the shrinking West and vanishing cowboy way of life. Maakestad’s ceramics are a magical collection of organic objects that express her love of the outdoors.
Please join us for a reception to celebrate the work of Suzanne McHone, JoAnn Lance, Kaye York and Lisa Maakestad on Saturday, August 2, 4-6:30 p.m., with live music by Americana band The Cowbelles. Tracy Holmes, our upstairs gallery neighbor will also be open for a reception at the same time, so come by and enjoy both.
