January at Gallery 55

Our guest for January is Sandpoint artist Jenni Barry. Ms. Barry builds images using a technique based on the original doll-making Japanese tradition of Kimekomi, where fabric for the doll’s dress and body shape is skillfully folded and tucked into grooves in a wood figure. Ms. Barry adapted the technique to create colorful and inviting wall hung art with a variety of subjects, including portraits, landscapes, florals and allegorical pieces.

Please join us for a reception and help us celebrate Ms. Barry’s art on Saturday, January 4, 4-6:30 p.m., with live music by Dan Wilson.

View Ms. Barry’s work and the work of over twenty regional artists at Gallery 55 during the month of January. The gallery is open 11-5 daily. Closed New Year’s Day.
