September at Gallery 55

Gallery 55 is featuring two landscape painters from its membership in September: Jane Cropp and Sharon Herther. Jane’s paintings come from her years of experience outdoors in the Western landscapes of Colorado, New Mexico and Idaho. Her take on these landscapes adds drama and color that get at the essence of that experience for her and the viewer. Idaho landscapes inspire Sharon Herther, too. Raised on a dairy farm in the Treasure Valley, she learned from her mother growing up to appreciate all the natural beauty that surrounded them. Sharon is known for the realism and lovely detail in her work. You may have seen her work, not only in the gallery, but on interpretive signs at Cataldo, Ponderosa and Bruneau State Parks. Most recently, you can see two of her landscapes on the Payette Land Trust’s Big Heart, currently on tour in the McCall area.

Join us for a reception on First Saturday, September 7, 4-6:30 p.m., with live music by Annie Nies and Jeff Box. Sharon’s Big Heart will be on display at the gallery September 7-13.

View Jane and Sharon’s work and the work of over twenty regional artists at Gallery 55 during the month of August. The gallery is open 11-5 daily.
