Martine Castoro was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She studied at the world renowned Art Center School of Design in Pasadena. There, Martine graduated with honors in 1983 with a Bachelors degree in fine art and a minor in illustration.
She then started working in Los Angeles where her art revolved around movie posters, album covers, magazine illustrations, video covers and book covers. Martine also taught design at Art Center, Santa Monica City College and California Art Institute before moving to Laguna Beach to begin her fine art career and start showing her work in local galleries.
In 1994 Martine opened her first restaurant (and art gallery), Ti Amo Ristorant. There she sold paintings locally and internationally.
In 2005, she moved to Boise, Idaho. She then opened Barbacoa, a restaurant filled with artwork, murals and visual stimuli.
