LYNN MCCONNELL

ARTIST STATEMENT
I received my degree in Art from San Francisco State University in 1984, but as happens to many of us, life took me in an unexpected direction and I spent the next 30 years being happily married, raising kids, and building a career in domestic and international human resources which allowed me to travel extensively.
Now, still happily married, with the kids grown I began painting again in 2012, I began taking all those travel and personal experiences and translating them into my art. I am blessed to live in one of the most beautiful places on earth and use those scenes and experiences in my paintings.
I love painting the world around me and bringing that special world and experiences to others. Whether it is a rodeo scene, horses, cattle, cowboys, beautiful landscapes and buildings or my beautiful granddaughters, there never seems to be a shortage of available subjects!
As a member of the Idaho Watercolor Society, I have been lucky enough to exhibit with them for the past several years. I have also been accepted into a number of other juried shows including:
- Phippen Western Art Juried Show
- Initial Point Gallery – a number of group shows
- Art Source Gallery Juried Shows
I am the proud mother of three sons and have lived in Nampa with my husband John since 1985 where I continue to work and paint today.
